Description: Think you don’t have the room to grow some of your own food? Think again! We’ll learn that container gardening doesn’t just mean pretty plants hanging from your eaves. Imagine eating your own lettuce all summer- your own beans, beets, radishes, carrots…the list is endless! We’ll explore the world of container gardening from every angle to get you started. Pots, soil, fertilizer, plants. We’ll talk about organics, sustainability in materials, and compost. This course is geared toward people who are just starting or starting to think about gardening in containers. Container gardening is for people with little room or have bad soil or limited light. Folks who are in a rental property or apartment, need accessibility, want convenience, or have specific gourmet needs. Is that you? Join us for a fun and very informative class. This is a hands on course, so bring your own light-weight container. We’ll be applying your new knowledge step-by-step throughout the class. You will leave with your first container garden ready for your home. Please don’t bring heavy or very large pots. Safe, free childcare available by reservation.
